I need to purchase an angle grinder to remove the top of a keg. Would this be ok http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-7...=1VPB8S6U5MZGK or should I look for something with more amps? Do I need to get a special grinding wheel or should the one provided with the angle grinder be ok?

A keg isn't an incredibly demanding task for an angle grinder; even a cheap one should get you through it if you're patient. Personally I'd recommend getting a nicer one so it holds up when you use it on other future projects, but that's your call.

You need a cutoff disc, as opposed to the grinding wheel which comes with it.

Thanks for the info. Work is slow for the summer, so don't want to spend a lot of money right now. I assume http://www.toolup.com/dewalt/DW8062....LAID=317901410 would be a sufficient cut-off disc?

stainless steel responds better to slow speeds, so the tool doesnt matter as much as your patience.

As cheap as these are I have several. They are cheap enough to have them set up for different applications. One for cut off, one for grinding, etc.

Wow wasn't expecting to find one that cheap, might have to order from them. I was happy find find one for under $30, but $10 is even better.

el cheapos work fine as long as you follow the advice of the posters and don't force it... just guide it and let it do the work.

Somewhere on the site is instructions on building a "jig" out of scrap wood and clamps. Using it will give you a nice clean, round opening.

+1 on the Harbor Freight grinder. We used one with a sanding wheel to sand logs for the log house. Worked fine.

I just did my keg today. Way easier than I thought it was going to be. No jig needed, only took 5 min. maybe less
Good luck
