Hi there !

My third batch of Beer , made from DME , is already in the Primary for the 10th Day .

I'm going to use Gelatine as the fining agent next Week and perhaps after a few days priming and bottling will be done .

1- I've read that after clarifying with Gelatine , the Beer should be repitched by the yeast , after adding priming sugar .

I'd like to know , how much dried yeast should I add this time ?

2- The Yeast which I use , produces vigorously H2S in presence of Sucrose . Therefore , I'm going to use DME for priming .

As the Beer is clarified , should I add Gelatine to this DME solution , too ?! So that no more cloudiness is brought to the Beer again .

Unless it's a high gravity beer I don't think you need to add yeast at bottling. Even with fining there should be enough yeast left in solution to produce carbonation.

Corn sugar will work just as well for priming and costs a lot less then DME.

Do not add gelatine to the priming solution.

I keg and force carb so I could be wrong on needing to add new yeast.

Don't add gelatin to your priming solution. The idea of priming is to get carbonation. You don't want to add gelatin to it.

I don't use gelatin (or other finings) because my beer is clear without it, though. If you absolutely need to use it, then you may find that adding 1/3 package of fresh dry yeast into the cooled priming solution will help ensure carbonation.

I assume you have cloudy beer and that's why you want to use gelatin. That's fine, but if you have friends who are vegetarians, make sure you let them know. Many people assume beer is vegetarian.

The Man who sold me the DME recommended to use a fining agent after fermentation is complete ,
because the Protein content of this Malt is nearly high and the Beer will be very cloudy at the end .

I decided to use Gelatine , as it's the only fining agent available to me .

I should say also that I've made a small batch ( 0.8 Gallon , 3 Liter ) .
I think you recommended 1/3 package of dried yeast for a 5-Gallon-Batch .

So , how much would you recommend now ?!

Does a package of dried yeast contain 5 Gramms of yeast ?


By the way , None of my friends are vegetarian .
