Default grolcsh(sp?) bottles??

Hi. Is there any reason not to use these types of bottles?? It seems so much easier than capping regular bottles....

They're fine to use. There are some green glass Grolsch bottles out there that aren't so good unless you keep them in a dark place.

Yep, as Genghis77 said, keep em in a dark place or you will skunk your beer.

Flippies are fine, just make certain the grommets are in good condition.

new grommets are cheap. I use grolsch almost exclusively now. Bought about 60 on craigs list. Change out the grommets every few batches, imho. BUt I can bottle alone using these, no partner needed!.

I'm slowly moving towards bottling all of mine in swing caps except for the give-aways. Just make sure you get browns ones (no blues or greens).

Planning: Agave Witbock, Raisin Beer
Primary: GF Hazelnut Stout
Tertiary: Cranberry-Pom pLambic (est. bottle date: 03/01/08)
Drinking: Cab.Sav/Merlot Wine, Grand Cru, Hazelnut Stout #3, Ordinary Bitter
