My wife loves my homebrew! She has a short list of about 3 beers she wants to see me make regularly. A sour ale similar to Magic Hat ODD Notion series, a wheat, and a noble hops steam beer. Although I like all these I need time to add my favorites, Oatmeal stouts, pale ale and stouts. What a dilemma.

I just opened a bottle of a noble steam, real good. I didn't include Hersbucker in the recipe, didn't have any on hand. It is real good without it.

1 Pkgs San Francisco Lager (White Labs #WLP810) Yeast-Lager

:fro:

Man that looks tasty! Two questions:
1. What temp did you ferment at with the SF Lager yeast? I assume fairly high 65-70F for steam beer qualities?
2. When should I expect some to show up in my mailbox?

1. I was able to keep it about 68*F. I don't have the ability to keep it much cooler.

2. Will a case fit in the mail? :drunk:

I can only get my hops locally by the whole ounce. Any thoughts to dry hoping what would be the left over .25oz for each of the hops? I don't have the setup for lagering, so was thinking about going with a simple White Labs California Ale (WLP001). Any other ale yeasts that would work better?

Just looking at what hops I can get locally, and I can't get Hersbrucker. I can get Hallertau though. I try to alternate a little between buying online and supporting the local place even though the local route sometimes costs a little more.

Should I double up on the Hallertau or swap out to Mt. Hood or Liberty? I'm trying to stay along the 'noble' hops line, so along those lines should I go with something more like Fuggles or East Kents? What do you all think would work best? Right now, I'm leaning towards the Liberty.

My wife hates my brew!

Good on you that you have a fan in the house.

I had a MH odd notion brew last summer. Holy crap, that was horrible!

But, to each their own, eh? ;)
