I am using a 2nd generation yeast (Wyeast 1762) from a brew that was about 1.052 and repitching it, after it has been washed and made into a 1 liter starter, into a 1.062 beer. I have always heard that when reusing yeast you should pitch up. I was wondering if that was enough of a gravity difference to prevent any off flavors. (The 1st generation of the yeast was used in a 1.035 brew.)

I wouldn't think that would cause any problems. I've reused many batches of yeast, usually transferring the wort into the secondary of a different, normal strength, batch. Some say the secondary isn't a good candidate for reusing yeast because it is a bit more 'tired', but I think the dregs in the primary more than qualify using the secondary. Go ahead and use it.
