I'm wondering what it would taste like if I threw a whole banana or banana blended in water, into the primary for my next cheap generic wheat. Anyone ever try that?

just ferment at a higher temp and make a Hefe weitzen if you want banana flavor. The higher ferment temp will cause banana esters.

I did this with prehopped bitter extract and about 1 lb of bananas. It fermented like crazy.

Or go to bottle shop and look for Wells Bannana Bread beer.

It's made from fermented banana mush.

I have a beer with 5 lbs of banana, peels and all, with 2 lbs of tart cherry fermenting right now.

Dubbed Donkey Kong. It's a 1.085 amped up fat tire that's been fruited.
