Couldn't find a link, Sears website is a pain in the ass to navigate for cookware.

It comes with a lid and a bottom for steaming tamale's. Compared to other tamale steamers I've been looking at but where smaller this one feels substantially thicker and the handles feel more sturdy.

sorry for the old bump, but is the OP talking about the gaunaurd 32 qt aluminum tamale and seafood steamer? this thing? http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...s+%26+Steamers

or was it http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...061224x0000002 ?

would this even be usable for home brewing purposes with a bottom on it like that?

Looks like it's something like this. There's just a ridge around the bottom for the steamer "false bottom" to rest on.

Aside from maybe making the cleaning a little harder, doesn't look like a real problem.
