I wanted to pitch some dregs from a JP beer but I missed out. So I already had this starter wort ready so I just set it outside all night and the next day and then dumped it into a 1 gal jug. I did this Sat afternoon and today I have what looks like some foam around the edges of the jug. (I cant upload a pic to show you). Would this look right for a "wild" starter? Im going to brew on the 20th or March and wanted to use this. What should I look for or smell for to tell me it is no good and to just use regular yeast?

Thanks for any input

Sorry for the size if this does post... just upgraded mebership to post pics!

As long as there's no skin and it smells drinkable I'd say it's okay.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know! Mine has a smell that I actually cant discribe, so I will check in about a week and see what it has evolved into :D
