Anyone watching National Geographic's documentary about what happens when the earth's oil supply suddenly runs out? This is the scariest thing I've ever seen on TV. Time for another beer.

That simply isn't going to happen. There are centuries worth of oil in the tar sands and oil shales, just a matter of paying the price.

this is true.... but there is a difference between running out and having enough!

google "peak oil" and read some of that stuff....

Meh. We survived as a species before oil for quite a while. We will survive after.

People are too caught up on how awesome and "advanced we are". The "advanced" period of human existence will be a small blip on the radar of humanity. Like looking back at how advanced the Egyptians were.

No sense crying about it.

wont happen ... google Bakken . With the improvements is horizontal drilling and fracturing its getting cheaper to extract the oil

Ha I was just thinking, "I wonder which would be worse... Earth after Oil or Earth after Barley?
