I'm in a pinch where I need to use a dry lager yeast on an IPA recipe. Is there any real problems with this?

Not in my opinion

It will be a very clean IPA provided you follow typical lager fermentation procedure.

No, IPAs generally don't get their key characteristics from the yeast.
