Heya guys, i've been following these forums religiously for a few months now and i LOVE it here. Never actually posted anything before so i figured now would be the time.

I came across a temperature controller on ebay for pretty cheap, but it has a weaker output relay than the usual LOVE controller. 10 Amp as opposed to the love's 16 Amp. So i was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge of how much current a typical freezer compressor pulls. In the end it will only end up saving me about 20 bucks, but maybe others will benefit from my lack of knowledge haha. Thanks!

Maybe i'll actually go introduce myself in that section of the forums now haha.

Most freezers have a tag or label near the motor that shows what power they pull...IME usually pretty low.

There is a recent thread detailing the use of an ebay aquarium controller fyi.
