Default Malto-Dextrin... Where can i find it?

So a google search hasn't been very productive. I kinda wanna know where I can get malto-dextrin locally. Is it called something that is regularly sold in a grocery store? My LHBS/Whole foods store had none....But maybe they didn't know what I was talking about.

I'm not big on online ordering...especially when I only need 1/2 pound apparently for this oatmeal stout I want to thicken up...

Have your lhbs order some. By necessity I do ALL my ingredient shopping online, it's no big deal. If lhbs won't order it buy a bunch and stock up.

Williams brewing has a pound for $3.50.

Kind of surprised Whole Foods didn't have it. Maybe check suppliment stores?

Maybe you could sub CaraPils?
