My mail carrier saw me building my brew rig over a 3 day period. When I was brewing my first batch I came out of the garage and took the mail directly from him. He was glad I came out to the street so he could ask me what we were doing. When I told him we were brewing beer he just laughed. I've also had just about every one of neighbors over at one time or anothyer when I have been brewing.

Never thought about the meth thing. But I live on 3 acres and my garage doors don't open to the street. Nobody behind me to peek. I do share some of my brew with the guy across the road and give him spent grain for his chickens, so he knows about it anyway.

I'm a cop, who has gotten two of my partners involved in winemaking, one of whom I am going to brew my first batch of beer with this weekend. We were just talking the other day about what would happen if some rookie cop saw a blow off tube coming from a carboy.

I also don't appreciate rude and ignorant comments about "typical cops."

I would try to do this, but I have no idea who it was. We just had like 5 different houses move in within 5 houses away.

I have not had a cop-stop yet. But I have had a neighbor fill my mailbox with pamphlets on how bad deep fried turkey is for you. After talking to a few neighbors, the prevailing theory is that I eat 1-2 deep fried turkeys per week.

Last fall we had a false alarm with our alarm. Cops were called. I know they went into the back yard where I had hops growing but nothing was said about the hops. I almost expected some questions.

I think this is more about typical neighbours than typical cops

No issues here, but I live in cabin country... my neighbours may not like my homebrew (light BMC drinkers.... but they get it)

The apartment complex I lived in during college had a huge laundry list of fines they could slap on you. One was a keg fine. Guess they didn't want people throwing keggers. I borrowed a buddies keggle for a big batch, and had it sitting on the back porch for about a week. I got a letter in the mailbox a month later for a $200 keg fine. I had a really tough time getting out of that one.
