I'm assuming that this is your first, or one of your first brews?

If it is your first, here is my advice:

Nurmey is right, if you leave it for a few weeks it will taste much nicer, however it's not going to be the end of the world if you decide to bottle as soon as your fermentation is finished.

Take another gravity reading tomorrow, if your gravity is still 1.006 then it's definitely finished fermenting (I'd be very surprised if your gravity dropped lower than 1.006 with an extract brew.)

what would a good attenuation percentage be for an extract beer?

I recently took a reading on a clone I made of Dark horse's Black Bier.. It read 1.000, I couldn't believe it.

Fast forward to my next brew and it said my 1.050 kit was a 1.160.. The paper had come loose in my hydrometer.

Make sure to check that.
