Hello fellow brew nuts...

I made an ale I call "Hanky Panky Pale Ale", and I tasted it after 1 week. I dry hopped with what some would call an excessive amountof cascade hops. Well, it tasted GRRRREAT! Better, actually, than 1 month afterwards. Anyone else enjoy the taste of a dry hopped brew while the hop taste (from dryhopping) is super fresh?

Maybe its just that I used Cascade for the dry hop.... Anyway, here is the recipe. Its actually pretty darn good.

3.5 Gallon Batch
82% American 2 row
10% Honey
8% 80L Crystal
10 Grams Green Bullet hops for bittering (60 min)
10 Grams Cascade for flavour (10 mins)
Dry hopped with about 1.5 ounces (45 grams) of Cascade

Drinking soon after dry hopping is imperative, since the hop flavor/aroma will age out.

I've learned the same thing with my dry hopped beers. One of these days I'm going to do something stupid like dry hop with a pound of hops just to see how long the flavor lasts. That reminds me, I should go drink that Pliny that's in my fridge
