After a few uses it stopped working very efficiently, I can get more air out of the bag by leaving a small opening at the top and sucking the air out with my mouth before sealing. A freezer bag will be just fine for several months if you can get the majority of the air out.
I've been using the ziplock vacuum bags like this
for a while to store left over hops and other brewing herbs Iincluding bulk hops from HopsDirect, and I've never had a problem with them...I've reused the bags several times, and I've never lost a seal or had a bag "recompress" on me.
Packaged: Dry pipeline...it's been a crazy summer...
