It's important to note on here that that thermostat is a 24VAC (not exactly a common power rating) thermostat. Also (I couldn't find a spec sheet on it) most likely it won't have much output power. Probably in MiliAmps. It won't be able to be used to operate a chest freezer, refridgerator, or heating element without the integration of relays. Don't know what you'll need for a power supply. These are meant as replacements for your furnace and AC temp control.

Exactly, with my small 12v case fan from a pc and spliced in 12v power adapter from a linksys router that was long-dead it works fine.

I'm sure it does and I know the original thread mentions it was used in the Mother of Fermentation Chamber build, but I just wanted to put the tech info on here in case someone who didn't know better was looking to use it for another means. I wasn't ever trying to bash or hijack the thread. Just trying to help others be aware of what exactly they may be buying.
