Default Sierra Nevada yeast culture

As many of you probably know, the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. naturally carbonates their delicious beer. Now, this may be a stretch, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to culture their yeast out of the small amount of sediment in the bottom of the bottles.

Sure. I do it regularly with Bell's ale yeast.

Sierra Nevada's ale yeast is the same strain as Wyeast 1056 and WLP001.

Here's how to do it: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f13/yeas...strated-41768/ ... a lot of good info in that thread. Just make a starter with the sediment from 2 or 3 (or 6) bottles of SN yeast and go from there.

You certainly can, or you can just buy WY1056/WLP001 'coz it's the same thing.

By growing the starter up incrementally, you can wind up with a healthy pitch of Chico ale yeast.

Isn't S-05 the same as well?
