Default saving yeast

i got some wlp001 and split it into 3 starters with some sugar/nutrient and energizer, used 2 for brews and put the third back into the vile.

Good idea, or bad idea? should i decant the liquid off and put fresh water in to prevent fermentation in the frige?

It's not what I would do, but if it works, what the he!!. If the goal is to save a few bucks on yeast, you might want to read the thread on Washing Yeast. I washed my first batch this afternoon (WLP002), and I'm looking forward to seeing how it works creating a starter.
