Is this the same/or similar to the aeration stones you find online at the HBS? Everything seems to be made out of stainless steel but it doesn't state a micron. Was thinking of using it to make a diy aeration wand, what do y'all think?

Yeah it does - 50 micron. My air stone is (IIRC) 0.5 micron. You are going to get bigger bubbles, so less efficient oxygenation with that.
