So I've bottled some cider (apple juice + dextrose + notty) after two months in the primary. It's been in bottles for a little over 2 weeks. I opened the first one and there are LOTS of bubbles, but they are very big, and after about ten minutes in the glass all the carbonation is gone. Is there any way to make the bubbles smaller? Also, is there any way to get more head on my cider? I'd like more of a beer-y head if that's possible.

Thanks.

No different with cider than it is with beer, three weeks @ 70 MINIMUM, mre for higher gravity things.....Read my blog here Of Patience and Bottle Conditioning. With emphasis on the word, "patience."

Yep, 3 weeks minimum. Some of mine took longer than 3 weeks to fully carb.

So you're saying that the huge bubbles are a sign that it's not fully carbed yet?

The bubbles in my cider are tiny and plentiful, like champagne.
