I cleaned and sterilized all my equipment and my bottlecaps .
I should have waited to do the bottlecaps i think. Anyway , I put the caps in a freezerbag thinking it will keep them sterile through my fermenting. Was that a good idea??

You're going to need to sterilize things on bottling day anyway, I'd suggest you just re-sterilize them then. You never know what is living in that freezerbag

The may rust if you put them in the bag wet.
I had some leftover caps rust that I didn't dry enough.

A little vodka in a bowl right before bottling is all you need.

Better than vodka is starsan.

For ethanol to be a proper sanitizer it needs to be around 80% not 40% like vodka.

If it rusts around the gasket it will leak and the beer will not carb. Not worth taking the chance using rusted ones vs the price of caps.
