When I was brewing at Rio Grande I learned to wear boots the hard way. I wore Tevas and the straps got caustic water spilt on them, which proceeded to slowly eat away the flesh on my feet. I ended up with some amazing teva shaped burns on my feet. Home Depot sells boots for dirt.

Now I am not wearing boots, but I should. I have some brewing clothes because my wife was tired of me ruining my other clothes while brewing, so why not get the boots as well?

Never noticed that. I can assure you, I may be a metrosexual, but I aint no stinkin vegan! I have to draw the line somewhere. And yes, I wear them all day. Very comfortable.

It's Florida and usually hot so I brew barefoot or in sandals.

I do closed toed shoes, but I should probably wear boots. Being around lots of boiling wort isn't exactly safe if there is a spill.

Sorry I didn't see this before..... funny.
I like to wear boots, I don't usually except in the winter. Not usually while I'm making beer (hiking boots maybe)

A valid point.

I brew on the back porch and am always in and out through the dining room and kitchen. SWMBO doesn't like that. I'd rather risk a burnt foot than an angry SWMBO.

Most of the time I try to use my slip on full toed shoes, but I've done the sandal thing too.
