I just checked and saw that my last interview with James Spencer is this weeks Basic Brewing Radio episode:

http://www.basicbrewing.com/index.php?page=radio

Itís about the old German brewing text from 1860 that I translated earlier this year. (http://braukaiser.com/wiki/index.php...ort_Production). I havenít listened to it yet b/c my iPod car adaptor is broken but James always does a good job editing the interviews.

Given the time that passed between writing the article and the interview I actually had to read up on it again. At some points I actually fell asleep reading my own stuff. That canít be good

Kai

I read all 29 pages yesterday afternoon (yes it was slow at work). I found it an extremely well-written, interesting read.

What intrigued me the most was the absolute absence of sharing information between the brewers of that day. Brewers of our current culture share almost to a fault.

Yes, a lot of information is shared but there also is still a lot of secrecy, especially in large commercial breweries.

I have this episode waiting on my iPod. I was already anticipating listening to it, but, now, I have even more of a reason to listen!!

Kai-

I discovered I can get the Better Brewing radio on my new Squeezebox, so imagine my surprise when I saw that you were the guest speaker...very interesting - well done.

BTW -- did Ray McNeill ever give you that keg for your answer to what was the difference between a Lager and and Ale ?? (smile)..
