Default Over pitching symtoms

I recently pitched 2 gallons of ESB onto a yeast cake from a 4 gallon batch of an IPA - obviously over pitched. What symptons can I expect the finished beer to have ?

It will taste like an ESB. Realistically, over-pitching isn't a problem for most styles, as long as you keep the temperature under control.

What David said....you may get a bit of yeast bite while sampling it green, but if you give it time to flocculate out and condition it will be fine. It is far better to overpitch then underpitch. And brewers brewing 2.5 gallon batches often pitch the size they would use (like an entire packet of dry yeast) for a 5 gallon batch, to no ill effects.

An english style like an ESB NEEDS some fruity esters in it. Your beer could end up lacking those, but that's about it.
