I was just fixin to start my first brew when I realized that I don't have a big enough brew kettle. I have a 7 qt. enameled kettle, but I guess that's probably not big enough. I have a heavy 12 qt. pot with a good non-stick surface, but everything I've read says stainless steel or enameled only.
So, is there some reason why non-stick surfaces shouldn't be used? Will they leave a bad taste like aluminum will?
Thanks...after reading some more I pretty much figured that almost anything would probably do. But, being the impatient sort, I went down to the HBS and picked up a stainless kettle. I'd been looking for an excuse to buy a bigger pot anyway, so now I can do my brew and make a bigger pot of chili too.
