Hi everyone.
I want to make 3 gal. of wine from some black current fruit base that I bought. The recipe on the can of fruit base says to use liquid solution potassium metabisulphite instead of campden tablets. I have a 2 oz bottle of powder potassium metabisulphite. How can I turn this into a liquid for three gallons of must.

Follow the directions on the powder you have.

Don't worry about the difference between liquid and powder. In the end, you'll always want to shoot for the correct dosage per gallon. Off the top of my head, I don't recall what it is or should be.

Think about this. Your powder will become the "liquid" version as soon as you put it in your must.

Thanks,
Your answer makes sense to me. I will just use one eight tsp. for 3 gallons. The instructions on the bottle say one forth tsp for 5 gallons.
