Will leaving really old, very bad tasting homebrew (no infection issues, just fermented WAY too hot) ruin the cornie keg itself at all or is it something that a good cleaning and a couple of gasket replacements could easily fix?

I've heard of folks not happy with a batch who set the corny aside for a few months and then revisit it with no problems at all.

Cornies are stainless steel. Nothing in beer can hurt them. I just finished my 2003 barleywine. It was in the keg for over six years and the keg is fine. I plan on replacing the o-rings, just because of age.

Taste it again! Beers always get better! (unless you let oxygen into the keg, then it'll taste like baby vomit).

If it still tastes like crap, chuck it. Your keg is just fine.

keg is fine. Extra time can sometimes clean up a hot ferment. That's how my scotchale was saved.
