Default pitching yeast

when pitching dry yeast for a mead, do you need to use more than one 5 gram pack like with beer? or is the yeast strong enough in just one pack?

Reason: EDIT: i dont have my pack with me but im using Lavlin dry yeast number 117 something something

one packet is fine for up to 5 gallons - but I'd recommend some staggered nutrient additions as must is pretty low in stuff that healthy yeast need.
