Wow,

What a great response. Thanks for all the info, I've had several hobbies and have learned a few things.
The first is go with best you can afford,,,
The second is those that supply will gladly help you spend all you can afford.,..
Thirdly, you'll never recoup your investment...

There you are, my definition of a hobby. But I keep coming back????

But, you gotta do sumpin...

Right now I don't know what I don't know. Let me do some more research and I may be able to ask better questions.

That Midwest Supply thing sounds interesting. Lets see what Mr, Google has to say.

Best regards...

Great tips... Thanks. Curious about fresh basil. What did you do to it to sanitize?

I like the way you think...

Too true. My other hobbies are analog photography (film, darkroom, developing, printing) and cooking (I'll be slow smoking brisket and pork butt all day tomorrow, too bad my homebrew isn't ready yet). And I have expensive vices too (smoking fine cigars and pipes, drinking good whisky). All hobbies are money pits, to be sure, but well worth it. I tell myself that every time I go into my darkroom, knowing that I'll never recoup what I spent to build it.

Washed it/soaked it in cool tap water. IOW, no actual sanitizing. So far, every bottle has been pure magic...no infections or contaminations. Sweet. Such amazing beer.
