Default Oooops... Flaked Weat v Flaked Oats

I meant to pickup Flaked Oats this weekend and while in the store accidentally picked up flaked Wheat instead.

Can I still use this in my chocolate Stout to add more body etc...??

I don't think I can make it back to the store by brew day as I'm off work around the time the stores near me close and I work saturday.

Sunday is brew day...

thanks
jake

Go to the grocery store and get rolled oats from the bulk bin.

How much is it? Should be perfectly fine. But, the Quaker (quick kind, 1-minute) are rolled oats which are essentially the same as flaked oats. You can use them interchangeably.

It's only 1/2 lb.

Cool I didn't know they were almost the same.

I'll swing by and pick up a box tonight.

thanks

yup, I use Quaker Instant and find them interchangeable with flaked oats from the LHBS.

Psst! Cheaper too.
