In the spirit of the Greatest Debut Album thread, what are your fave LIVE albums ?

I would have to list, in no particular order :

The Who-Live At Leeds

The Allman Brothers-Live at the Filmore East

Bob Marley-Live

John Lee Hooker-Live At The Cafe Au Go-Go

Johnny Cash-Live At Folsom Prison

Little Feat-Waiting For Columbus

More as I think of them...possibly

It's a toss up for me between "You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore vol.2" by Frank Zappa or "Live at the Murat" by Umphrey's McGee. I'd have to agree with Boerderij too. Phish is one of my all time favorite bands and any show you can get your hands on is ridiculous.

"Live Cannibalism" by Cannibal Corpse is the greatest live album ever, and it would be followed closely by Slayer's "Decade of Agression" and Deicide's "When Satan Lives" in a tie for second place.

KISS Alive cannot be the greatest live album simply because of KISS Alive II.

Also, whlie Allman Brother's "At Filmore East" is indeed a great live album it is easily eclipsed by several others from the similar time period... "Frampton Comes Alive" for example.

That's a damn good list.
Though I've never heard John Lee Hooker-Live At The Cafe Au Go-Go

here's a couple
Band of Gypsies
Woodstock

U2's 'live under a blood red sky' was excellent, and probably the best thing U2 ever did.
Also, Electric Folklore by The Alarm

While technically speaking not really a live album. I love Live at Pompeii.

Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same
Frampton Comes Alive
Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii
Neil Young - Live Rust
Foghat - Live
Lynyrd Skynyrd - One more For the Road

Pink Floyd - Delicate Sound of Thunder
Pink Floyd - P.U.L.S.E.

+1 on The Dance... great album.

well, and Concert for George too, now that you mention it. Hmm... gonna pop that DVD in right now, actually.

+1 on Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison. Doesn't get any better.

Another +1 to Johnny Cash
Also AC/DC Live, I don't know why but after 2 or 3 songs from that album, I'm ready to punch random strangers in the face! :rockin:
That's gotta be saying something for that album, right?

The Who Live at Leeds (Deluxe Edition) is hands down my favorite live album of all time.

I'll throw one more in the hat, too: Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble: Live at Montreaux 1982 & 1985.

There's quite a few out there. The ones that I've listened to most are:

Frampton Comes Alive
Bob Seger's Live Bullet and Nine Tonight
Black Sabbath: Reunion
Led Zeppelin: How the West was won
Pink Floyd: Pulse

+1 to Nirvana Unplugged, one of my favorites.

Ani Difranco - Living in Clip - 2-disc set, awesome

+1 to Nirvana Unplugged & Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison

The Clash-- From Here to Eternity
Tom Waits-- Big Time
Mighty Mighty Bosstones-- Live from the Middle East (I was at this recording)
Flogging Molly-- Alive Behind the Green Door
Social Distortion-- Live at the Roxy

I went to Frampton's Comes Alive tour in 1976...so I am biased as saying I was there, but I really like Floyd's PULSE, but went to their Animals tour...:rockin:

Both Kiss LPs were great, but I had already seen them in concert by 1974...:ban:

Any of the dozens of live Dead shows floating around.

+1 on the Dead :ban:

Favorite live stuff from my youth:

Bob Seger- Live Bullet
Deep Purple- Made in Japan
J. Geils Band- Full House
David Bowie- David Live
+1 Peter Frampton
