Maybe I'm paranoid, but I would be reluctant to use those for food products without understanding their use-history more. I would pass. Maybe I'm paranoid.

BB Primary 1: O'Flannagains Standard Stout
BB Primary 2: DFH-60 minute clone
BB Secondary 1: Dark Soul of the Night Russian Imperial Stout (Until Oct 2010 sometime)
Bottle Conditioning: None
On Hand: DFH-60 minute clone, Light Pilsner (Munton's kit)
Up Next: I dunno...I'm out of fermenters.

They were originally used to store soda syrup.

A member here uses one of these (or similar) as his 50g boil pot for group brews...

I'd thought about posting the link here too. If only I had the room...

I got two of the same type a couple of years ago. A friend helped weld the side bung closed, added a coupler, and took off the end with a plasma cutter.

Originally I used one for boiling and one for mashing. I have a new mash tun now so I converted one to a fermenter. Burner stand is custom welding to support the boiler and accommodate the nat gas jet burner.

Quite a sight to see 50 gal of stout boiling.
