I have an extract recipe for an English Pale Ale which I am quite fond of. I want to produce the same product using All Grain.

Extract recipe:

3.3 # Light LME
2.0 # Light DME
8 oz Crystal 60L ([email protected] Deg)
1 oz EKG @ 60 Min
1.5 oz Glacier @ 5 Min
2.5 Gallon Boil

So I am thinking that the grain bill would calculated as follows.

Pale Malt:

I am led to believe that the required hops additions would be less. How do I calculate this? Thanks.

On Deck: Hefeweizen
Primary: English Pale Ale, Apfelwein, Graff
Secondary: English Bitter
Drinking: Apfelwein, Amber Ale

The easiest way to check the hops is to compare the IBUs with the original, and then adjust the hops accordingly to get the same IBUs. I use brewing software to help with it, because you get lower utilization of hops in a higher SG wort. If you've already done that recipe as a full boil, though, no adjustment in hops would be necessary.
