Default Infection in yeast

If you have a infected batch can you wash the yeast and use it again or will the infection stay in the yeast and infect the next batch?

Chances are you're not going to get all of the bacteria/wild yeast out of the slurry. By "washing" I assume you don't mean using acid to wash the yeast but rather the standard sterile water rinse that is described?
