I just did a one gallon batch of hard cider 3 weeks ago and the fermentation has just about completed and the cider is now starting to clear up.
I've read someplaces that say let it fully clear, then add priming sugar then bottle.
Other places say add priming sugar once fermentation stops and bottle. Letting the cider condition and clear up in the bottle.

Has anyone followed either direction and found a preference? I realize this isn't exactly "beer" but it's similar.

I think there is a Cider forum around

But to answer the question - if you are bottle conditioning (as long as the FG is stable over 2 readings) I would bottle while it is still a bit hazy and let it clear post conditioning (at low temp is best, this will help drop any chill haze)

Thanks, that's what I was leaning toward. I wanted to make sure that there's enough yeast still in suspension to carbonate.
