Hello all,

Has anyone used Maple Sugar rather than Maple syrup? I am looking to make a maple brown ale and the price of maple syrup is crazy. So I was thinking about using Maple Sugar. Is this an option? Has anyone used maple sugar before?

last I checked, maple sugar was just syrup with all the water evaporated - so it should work fine.
BTW I have also heard that the spice "fenugreek" added to the boil really ups the mapley taste - never tried it though.

As a follow up to this post. I am getting ready to brew a maple brown and was wondering when should the maple syrup be added? During the boil or add it to the secondary? Any suggestions on how much to use?
