Default Filters

Anyone ever used something like this? Says it works for wine and beer. Just curious. Thanks!

I have a plate filter like that purchased from the same place. I seldom use it unless there's an emergency or something. Filtering most beers is simply not necessary. I would suggest using finings of some kind before resorting to filtering. Filtering is a big hassle and the filters are pricey. A better approach might be to consider cold conditioning to improve clarity. Mildly cloudy beer is no big deal and appropriate for some styles. You won't like filtering. It's slow and tedious. It does produce brilliantly clear beer. That can't be denied.
