What is a good substitute (Briess, for example) for a British Medium Crystal?

I'm assuming you mean British Crystal 60L or something to that nature?

I love the British 50/60 I get from my LHBS. It's more grainy and bisquity than a regular crystal malt of the same color.

I'd use some Victory malt in conjuction with an american crystal malt of the same range as the british malt you are going for.

If you mean the Dark Crystal in my Old Ale recipe, 80L and Victory (80/20) will give you a good approximation.

British Medium 50-60L? I have used it as American 60L. Adding some Victory sounds about right
Everything is better with a beer.
