A friend of mine won a brewing contest and his prize was a box of 12 one liter brown EZ-lok bottles. He doesn't want to put his beer in bottles that big, so he gave them to me if I could use them for wine.

Any experience with this type of bottle for wine? They are the wire snap-lock type, like a Grolesh bottle.

I also scored 65 used wine bottles that were in a friends back yard in 2 big buckets, 20 are soaking in Oxy Clean as I type.

You can absolutely use them, as long as the wine is done fermenting completely and does not require a ridiculously long aging time. You can cap them or use a swing-top.

Please define "rediculously" long.
I currently have a Burnello that needs botteling and it should sit 18 months minimum.

I plan on a Sovigenon Blanc next, and I doubt it needs more than a few months.

not sure what robert means. They should hold a good seal for quite a while. I say they are fine for this, plus it leaves room for some sparkling wine if you choose.
