Default Safale Ale Yeast?

I ordered some lager yeast from and they sent me Safale S-04... Anyboby ever used this for a lager? I've never used an ale yeast for a lager unless I were fermenting at higher temps. for maybe a Cali. steam beer. Any suggestions for using this package?

Weird considering all of the Saflager yeasts available. I haven't used it for a lager. If you pitch it at 70F and cool the wort slowly, it will ferment ok down to 60F or even 55F. Or just give them a call & I suspect they will ship you a packet of Saflager04 for free.

Remember one unassailable statistic, as explained by the late, great George Carlin: "Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!"

If you use an ale yeast and ferment it as an ale, then it won't be a lager by any stretch of the imagination.

Your vendor made a mistake and owes you the correct yeast
