Yooper, thanks for doing this. I have put together BBQ competitions in the past, and I know how much work this thing is going to be. Props

Okay I got excited and just BMBF'd all of my beers for NHC and this just now. I'll probably have more beers to enter in this by the time the deadline rolls around.

That coincides nicely with the 999 barleywine! I'll be sending in some I think.

Well, I have been out of the loop on this one. I might just have to send in a few brews.

Now I need to go back and read what the details are going to be.

I sure would love to win that new best of show BMW.

The contest will be judged in early October. We have two dates in mind, and we're making sure that this will work for the judges.

Well, trust me. The BOS prize is worth "fighting" for. It'll be announced soon!
We're still lining up more prizes. Let me say that so far, all of the prizes are good (some gift certificates, some swag) but the BOS prize is a real, um, prize! It's got a certain Blich, er, I mean Bling to it.

I don't know what beers would win this contest- ask OlllllO! He won a BOS recently. Let's find out what he made, and what others have won with!

All of the rules will be announced well in advance of the contest deadline- but here's a few to think about right now!

Since this in an online community, one of the rules is that any winning (placing in the 1,2,3rd, BOS, or other award) entry must be posted in the database before winning announced prizes. What this means is that once the standings are posted, you have 7 days to enter the recipe in the database. Once you do, your prize will be forthcoming. If you don't you will not be awarded the prize. This is for a couple of reasons- one is that we're an online community and we want a quality database! The other is because we're not having you submit the recipe with the entries, as other contests do. If you have a problem with submitting a recipe, contact me and we can discuss this.

Now, that doesn't mean that you can't brew a kit and still win! You can. Just post "This was AHS' Fat Tire Kit and it contained this type of hops, and this type of grain", or something like that. All entries are invited- kits, extracts, PM, all-grain, etc. It can be an original recipe, or one that you've bought from your LHBS. It can be a recipe that you've ripped off from us! If you brew it better- you deserve to show it off! Just name the source, and note your recipe. We just want to make sure the recipes match up to what we're judging. (This means you can't take a label off of a Sierra Nevada, for example, and pass it off as your own- you must provide a recipe).

Sound ok so far?
