I just transferred to my secondary after 7 days and there was no cake on bottom of primary, just the foam stuck to the sides of pail(normal) and foam floating around on top with some trub on bottom?
The yeast was good and the air lock was bubbling away the first 5 days.
Whats wrong??
P.S. Its a wheat beer

Most of your yeast is probably still suspended in the beer. Wheat beer yeast is not very floculant, so it stays in suspension longer than most. Leave it in secondary for a couple weeks and some of the yeast will settle out.

Thanks, I was just wondering if I had to start worrying or not because the last two beers I've made (honey ale, red ale) had a nice cake on the bottom of the primary

I've always had a cake, even with wheat beers.
This is interesting.

I am sure some of it is yeast. I took the OP to mean that there was not as much as normal? I have had beers take way longer than 7 days to settle down and start making a nice thick yeast cake on the bottom.
