Why does the cider have to be clear before you bottle it ?

So its clear when you pour it.

Also its a way to be sure that the fermentation is done and the yeast has had enough time to clean things up. (Yes I know thats what a hydrometer is for )
Primary: 3 gallon cider S-04
Secondary: Valentine Apfelwein Clone 1 Gal
Bottled: Halloween Apfelwein Clone 1 Gal
On Deck: 90 Shilling Clone
