Searching for some vials for the yeast bank and came across these:

Continuous Thread Glass Vials w/ Caps

Other than probably not autoclaveable, any downsides? Was thinking the 2 gram size.

I am fairly sure at least the glass is autoclavable. I would want someone to validate this, but I believe Borosilicate is good for pressure cooking temps.

i use these. autoclavable, 16ml. pretty sure you'll want something bigger than 2ml.

I use test/culture tubes:

I use the larger ones for slants and the smaller ones for suspensions (and for 'frozen' solutions if I were to do that kind of thing).

I would say that being autoclavable (pressure cannable, practically speaking for most of us) is mandatory for yeast banking; normal sanitation is insufficient.

Just an FYI the units mentioned on the site are drams, not grams. 1 dram = about 3.7 mL
