Decided to brew an IPA tomorrow after work. I'm going to try a pretty simple recipe:
3gal

7.5 lb pale malt
.5 lb 60L
Nottingham Yeast
3oz of perle hops around 6% aa
and dry hop with amarillo or cascade.

Also Im thinking about mashing around 47 or 49 instead of my usual 53.

Are we talking minutes or Celsius here? Or is it now fashionable to drop the third place digit in Farenheight?

Yeah, I'd do it. The dryness you get from a lower mash temp should be very nice ^_^ Good luck!

If you are going that low, bump it up to around 155 for about the last 15-30 min.
