i have weldless fitting that i use with my march pump, and currently i have just been pretty much recirculating the hot wort over the top of the kettle as i use my IC. it helps with the temp drops but makes for a mess of the hot break and hop trub. i figured i would step it up and add a return into the kettle, pretty much duplicating the valve i have now. on the inside, i would have a 90 degree elbow and a short (say six inch) piece of copper tubing bent slightly with the curve of the kettle. here is my ghetto 20 second sketch
would you guys recommend that i have the return just above the wort level, or submerged? i was going to go with submerged. any other input before i run to the hardware store?
