I'm Going to soak some cubes or chips in bourbon for a couple weeks. My question is, should I just pour the "tea" in my secondary and leave the oak out? Or put the oak in with it? Either way the liquor is goin' in:drunk: just curious if it's essential to put the wood in or not. I'm sure there's varying opinions on this subject, so let's hear em!

when I do this I fill a bowl with chips then top off with bourbon, just to the top of the chips. The chips will soak up alot. I then pour off the bourbon and add the oak. You can add the whole thing, but I found that just the saturated chips will flavor the beer nicely. I then drink the bourbon, I like bourbon
