I'd love to hear what you all think of this recipe. It's now conditioning in secondary, so I can't change it, but I'd still love to hear initial thoughts. Thanks!

Wee Heavy Ale - 5.5gallon batch

11.25lb Golden Promise
1.25lb Smoked Golden Promise (home smoked over alder, not very strong)
.5lb Roasted Barley

1.5oz Fuggles for 45min
.5oz Fuggles for 10min
.5oz Fuggle for 5 min

Wyeast Scottish Ale yeast - 1728 in a 2qt starter

Mashed with 19qt water at 152deg for 60min
Sparged at 172deg
Boiled 6.5g down to 5.5g

I carmelized about 1 gallon of first runnings in the stockpot until it was very dark but not burnt.

OG: 1.076
FG: 1.023

Fermented for 10 days at 66deg
Secondary for 21 days at 56deg
Plan on conditioning for 2-3 months

any thoughts?
Thanks,
Greenspey

I think you are too strong on the roasted barley, you will have coffee notes that are out of place for the style. The late hops are also generally left out of a beer like this (basically no aroma will be left after 3-4 months anyway). That said, I think it could still be a very tasty beer (call it a scottish porter).

Is "roasty" part of a Wee Heavy style, or should it just be malty, sweet? thanks for the help, btw.
