I just stumbled onto this. What a great project, chiefairwrench.
Just curious, what CAD program did you use to design this layout?

Almost ready to shot video 4. Here is some pics so you can see where we are at. :mug:

Someone ask to see a different burner in the biabstands.com Model 3 so I took the mini mite which have the approximately the same size of all the models . Hope this helps everyone to plan their stand.

Looks like we are going to break 20K views so I thought to celebrate I share a pic of the biabstands.com Model 4. I am very excited about this project and it will make a stand for the ebiab gentleman/persons. This stand plans will be out soon as well as build pics it is in process of being approved. Any suggestion would be a big help so let me know.

Wow 21,000 views this is awesome hopefully you are building your stands. Share your pics I love to see them. This evening or tomorrow I will be building another biabstands model 2 for one of our friends. Excited about the build Ill post pictures as we go.

Man, that is straight up awesome! Do you have an estimated cost for just the building materials for the series 2?

A while back just for the stand with wheels no accessories about 230.00. If you can use bed frame for free it takes about 2 king/queen sets it alot less. I bought hardware from Mc Master-Carr all 1/4-20. 175 lbs wheels all swivel for $5.75 ea from Harbor Freight. 1/4" drill bit pilot from Dewalt.

Well building my model 2 and everything was going great until I realize you can only use small burners like blichmann and Edelmetall™ Brü Burner maybe a bayou banjo burner small. I will be revising the the dimensions and sending out the revision to everyone that bought the model 2 and 1-3 model booklets in the mean time here is some pics of the build this morning

Nice rigs you've been working on and good video too. That looks like a cool project to work on in between brews.

I don't have the tools to make the cuts-- trying to sketch out using stock 4' and 2' angle iron-- any thoughts?

I need more information are you going to a place and they are going to cut them? I would stick to the longer 4" length you might have to adjust the dimensions for your burner. Did you download the free mini mite booklet on www.biabstands.com?

I have not downloaded anything yet. If I read some of the info correctly, the mod 2 and 3 are about 41 inches with a 21 inch square for the burner. I have seen steel angle iron in 4' and 2' lengths. If I could fashion a stand with those standard lengths, no cutting or grinding would be required. Heck, if you ever build the bolt together kit, I'll just get it from you!

We been working on a kit it just taking alot of time to make it affordable due to shipping and labor cost:( Hopefully the model 4 is the solution

My friend came over to work on his stand yesterday. We decided to weld his stand together. He is building a model 2 enjoy.

I used a sawzall and a grinder, and got all but two cuts done. I ran out of material. I managed to scavenge all of my bed rails so far, just gotta find enough to do two more pieces for the bottom, and then I can start putting it together:

I did get to weld it together and add a coat of grill paint. I need to add my shelves and wheels next, but it's coming along.

Very nice look like you got this :)

It is actually a pretty easy project. Got all of the welding done in one day. May add a few brackets just to make sure I don't end up with hot wort all over me, but that's just me being overly cautious. :) Plans are very easy to follow.

Made some more progress. Got the shelves put together, covered in metal sheeting. Had an issue mis-measuring a shelf and the metal sheet doesn't look so great, so probably will redo that. Hopefully this image will display correctly:

This all looks amazing! Definitely keeping this in mind for when I'm finished with my eBIAB system (should be easy enough to modify).

Do you still have plans to make bolt together kits?

Yep you can purchase them and download or watch the you tube videos and download the work book for free on the site. Kits are being repriced again trying to make it extremely affordable

I just stumbled into this thread and read (most of it)
Looked at every pic though ;-)

I am currently over seas, but when I return stateside in the fall I will most def break out the welder and make one.

One question that might be answered in the vids, Why are the holes not predrilled? I HATE drilling into steel and would think a drill press would make light (lighter) work of the holes pre-weld.
Just a thought, mostly stemming from the despise of hand held steel drilling

Thanks for the constant sharing!!!

You can do that but the videos was made for those how dont have access to alot of tools I use a drill press it works great so i know it will work :ban:
